Lance Anthony Wells' Obituary
Lance Anthony Wells was born in Nuremberg, Germany on November 2, 1964, to the late Roberta Jones Wells and Marion Wells. He departed this earthly life and entered eternal life on October 26, 2014.
Lance began his formal education in New Jersey. Because of his father’s career in the United States Army, he also attended schools in Virginia, Georgia and Maryland.
Moving with his family from one place to another sparked his passion and love for traveling. After leaving school, he became a tractor trailer driver, enjoying driving and viewing the beautiful country we live in. He was proud of and often talked about visiting all of the contiguous states. When his health failed and he was unable to drive a tractor trailer, he became a tow truck driver for Masons Towing and Service Center.
He was an avid Redskins fan. HTTR was his mantra, no matter how badly they played. His collection of Redskins memorabilia is vast. Lance remained faithful to his team to the end. In fact, it is believed that he was instrumental in assisting the Redskins in their win over Dallas. Angels do have wings.
Lance was also a race car enthusiast, often traveling to various tracks to observe car races and shows. He was also a lover of old cars.
Lance is best known as a workaholic, often missing what he valued most: time with his family and friends. He was known to many of his friends as “Uncle Lance” because, as explained, even though they were all the same age, he was the wise, loving uncle that everybody wanted to be around.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Marion and Arlene Wells; one brother, Brett Wells; two sisters, Michele and Vanessa Randall, one niece, Taylor Wells; one nephew, Conner Wells; one sister-in-law, Diane Wells; five aunts, Amanda Mims, Gertrude Clinkscales, Frances Wells, Delores Wells, all of Philadelphia, PA and Rochelle Jones Wallace of Williamsburg, VA; 4 uncles, Prentiss Wells and Claude Wells of Philadelphia, PA and Roy and Robert Jones of New Jersey; and a host of other loving family members and friends
