Lady Patricia Courtney's Obituary
Lady Patricia Courtney, (Pat) died suddenly on November 20, 2016. The only child, of Gid and Naoma Coats, of Dexter, New Mexico.
Married to Walter Edward Courtney on February 18, 1956 until his death in 2004. They had three sons: Vincent Scott Courtney, Patrick Edward Courtney, and Walter Andrew Courtney (Andy). Three grandchildren: Amber Jean, Andrew, Patrick; and a great grandchild, Amber. Daughters-in-law: Linda, and June Courtney.
She raised her three young sons during her husband’s tours of duty in Vietnam. She knew that great sacrifices are never forgotten.
Her husband was stationed in Japan two separate times and she traveled with him. She loved the Japanese culture.
She worked as a civil servant at various locations and volunteered for numerous causes dear to her heart, and which she received numerous commendations for a job well done.
New Mexico was only a state for 21 years when Pat was born. She remembered the alien spacecraft crash in Roswell and seeing the glow from the Trinity atomic bomb test. She went back to New Mexico to attend her 54th High school Reunion in 2005.
She was a member of Christ Church in Severn, Maryland. She loved to worship the LORD Jesus and the fellowship of its members.
Her family will have a Christian service at her interment with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
A classmate in March 17, 1946 wrote in her autography book:
“May your life be a happy and adventurous one, and may you have the best life has to offer, as you deserve it.”
Mom, we love you and you will always be missed.
