Kevin Eugene Steele's Obituary
Kevin Eugene Steele, age 47, died in Washington, DC on June 25, 2014. Born on April 1, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona, Kevin grew up as a “military brat” and lived on the west coast and Germany before settling in Washington, DC. He graduated from Desert Junior-Senior High School in 1985 and attended Antelope Valley College and Prince George’s Community College. He worked as a Senior Legal Research Associate for Westlaw Court Express, a Thomson Reuters Company, until July 2013.
Kevin touched everyone who knew him and treasured his friendships. He will be remembered for having a wonderful smile, quick wit, and making people laugh. Kevin was the life of the party, who enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and hanging out with his friends. He loved dogs, especially puppies.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie Moore Smith of Millersville, Maryland; father, Joseph F. Smith of Annapolis, Maryland; sister, Tonia R. Smith of Laurel, Maryland; and a host of relatives and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to The DC Center for the LGBT Community, 2000 14th Street NW, Suite 105, Washington, DC 20009.
