Ken Ragan's Obituary
Kenneth Parker Ragan, P.A.-C passed away at Anne Aundel Medical Center, Annapolis Maryland on November 1 at the age of 70 after battling cancer. He was born April 10, 1946 in Oakridge, TN, son of Willoughby Ragan, Jr. and Kathryn Lorene Parker. He was a Vietnam Veteran servicing in the Air Force, USAF Hopsital Tachikawa.
He graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Community Health and Family Medicine September 1974 Gainesville, FL. He was a pioneer in his field by being in the first graduating class. He was a avid train collector, enjoyed woodworking, photography and picture framing. A mentor at heart, he shared his passion for Health Care and Addiction Medicine and his experiences with all he encountered in his quiet unassuming way. He owned and operated Professional Occupational Health Care in Aberdeen , MD for 17 years. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of over 25 years, Leigh, his mother Kathryn, his son, Shawn Ragan of Nashville, TN., his beloved grandchildren Justin (Cassie)and his son Luka, Joshua (Ellie), Hayden, University of TN, (Knoxville, TN.), Katherine and two step children Jacqueline and Austin (Murfreesboro, TN).
The family is forever grateful for the generous outpouring of love and support shown to Ken and Leigh by their numerous friends and family members throughout his illness. A Memorial will be held at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD 9:30 Visitation and 10:30 Memorial Service Monday, November 7, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Arundel Lodge, Inc., 2600 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. 21037.
