Kathleen Maguire Tracy's Obituary
Kathleen Maguire Tracy was born to Annette and William Maguire in Hartford CT, on March 7, 1944. She grew up in East Hartford, CT; her mother died when she was 15 days shy from reaching 12 years old. She served as a surrogate mother to her five siblings. Kathy excelled academically in elementary, high school, and Trinity College (Washington, D.C) – a Cashman – Maguire tradition.
She met her husband of 56 years, Mike, at a Christmas dance at Mount St. Mary’s College. They were married in Washington D.C. on September 11, 1965 and were blessed with three gifted sons: Patrick, who achieved a scholarship to Villanova University, Sean, an appointment to the US Air Force Academy, and Kevin, who graduated with honors from University of Notre Dame.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike, her sons and their wives: Patrick (Cora), Sean (Anya), and Kevin (Terri) and five gifted grandchildren: Natasha and Jake, Angela and Dan, and Colby Tracy. Aside from her immediate family she is survived by her siblings: Jerry (Audrey) Maguire, Debbie (Sherman) Dibble, William Maguire, Sheila (Michael) DeRosa, Sean (Barbara) Maguire, Sandy (Jim) Bringley, and Terry (Mary) Maguire and their families.
Kathy relished EVERY opportunity to celebrate the joys of life, both big and small, and was deemed our “Celebration Angel”. In her wise opinion, ALL occasions were champagne worthy!
Her children and grandchildren were the absolute lights of her life! She proudly beamed about their accomplishments, and appreciated every precious moment spent with them.
Donations may be made in Kathy’s honor to American Cancer Society and or Hospice of the Chesapeake. In the words of her husband – “A truly classy Irish lass”
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Neumann, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Bestgate Memorial Park.
