I only met your Mom a few times but loved her smile and kind soul. You and I talked before she passed about how hard it is to "let go" and how you will be changed forever. I think your Mom's courage and grace is a remarkable, inspiring and beautiful gift that you can and will always embrace. Love you, Anne Boyd
Karen was an amazing woman. Strong of heart and mind and spirit. I will always find inspiration in her determination to carry on in the days prior to her retirement from CMS. She gave me a small shoe limoge box from one of her journeys, just big enough to hold a few paper clips. That box reminds me every day of her inspiring determination to live life fully every day.

I had the honor to know Karen as a woman who loved travel. She wanted to see the world, and she made that dream a reality. She embraced different places, cultures and people, and was curious about everything. She sampled the foods, saw the sights, pushed herself to try new things (like holding a snake in Morocco) and always had a smile for everyone. She will be so missed.

My deepest condolences to Karen's friends and family. I worked with Karen at CMS, but only for a few years before she retired. I watched her come to work while battling her illness. She was a brave lady who always had a smile on her face even when she wasn't feeling her best. I loved hearing about her travels abroad and seeing the photos she took on her trips. I know all of her friends at CMS will miss her deeply. Diane Shea
Diane and Steve, Thank you for sharing these lovely memories of your beloved mother. She had such a wonderful spirit and smile that one had no choice but to smile back. She was open, gregarious, and so proud of her children. She had a beautiful laugh which always made me comfortable to be myself around her. Diane, you inherited this beautiful gift from her and continue to share it with others. I wish for you both to remember the joyful times you shared with her and find comfort in the knowledge that she loved you both dearly.
