Julius "Duke" Nemeth Jr.'s Obituary
Julius "Duke" Nemeth passed away on Friday morning, March 9, 2012, surrounded by his family.
Duke was born and raised in New Jersey, and was an all-around outdoorsman. He worked as a Carpet Mechanic and was a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 2212 for 33 years. In 1995, he and his wife, Pat, moved to the Florida Keys, to pursue 'the good life' and do lots of fishing. They returned north to Stevensville, Maryland in 2000 to be closer to their children and grandchildren, and to continue doing the things they liked. He joined the Mid-Atlantic Region Carpenters Union, where he worked for 9 years until his retirement. Duke had several hobbies, such as numismatics, camping, hunting, fishing, crabbing and following NASCAR. Duke's life revolved around his family and he passed along his likes (and dislikes) along with his ever-present sense of humor to all of those around him.
Duke is survived by Patricia, his devoted wife of 49 years, two daughters, Bonnie (John) Clarke, and Cherie (Edward) Thornton, and his son, Daniel (Lara Chrucky), as well as by three grandchildren, William, Alexandria (Allie), and Cameron Clarke. Duke is also survived by brothers Glenn (Brenda) and David (Kathleen), and his sisters Debra (Charles) Martin and Judy.
A memorial service will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care at 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD on Monday, March 12th. Family and friends are welcome to gather between 10 and 11 am; service will begin at 11. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/).
