Julian Burch Beard Jr.'s Obituary
Julian Burch Beard Jr. passed away suddenly on October 11, 2024 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD. He was the son of Julian Burch Beard, Sr. of Davidsonville, MD and Avice T. Martin of Annapolis, MD. Julian grew up in Davidsonville, MD.
Julian, was also known as "JBurch'" which his Mother called him. Upon, meeting Julian for the first time, His wife Janet assumed that his name was, "Jay Burch Beard . She started calling him 'Jay". For 50 years Julian was known and loved as "Jay Beard" by Family and Friends"
Jay, attended the old Davidsonville Elementary two room school house back in the 1950's. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1965, and upon graduating from high school entered the University of Baltimore , Baltimore, MD to become a History Teacher.
Jay, was drafted into the Navy Fleet Marines in 1968 and trained to become a Navy Fleet Marines Medic Corpsman. Having gone to Medic Corpsman Training School before his Active Duty Tour to Vietnam. Jay trained with the Marines at Camp Lejune, NC and upon completion served 18 months in Vietnam. After his Honorable Discharge in the Navy. Jay finished his Service time in the Navy Reserve and served at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD from 1969 to 1974.
Jay worked over 30 years for Corps of Engineers at Ft. George Meade, MD. He was a Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanic Engineer. He took an early Retirement in 2001. Jay also .ran his own business from his residence called "Country Sunshine Lawn Service Incorporate. Which he started as a Part-time job in 1976. Having started out with just a Riding Tractor and Push Lawn Mower. His business grew and he not only cut residential but also commercial over the course of 38 years. He went Full-time with after retiring from Ft Meade, MD and retired from it 2014.
Jay, is survived by his loving wife Janet of 50 years. His brother and sister in law Bill and Kimberlee Ennis of Arlington, TX. His sister in law Diane Parker of Wetumpka, AL. His many Nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews from Texas, Alabama and Florida. His many cousins in Maryland . His beloved Friends and Neighbors.
Jay was best known for his generosity and love of giving. His love for the Lord, his loving wife Janet and his Country. He loved mentoring to the Youth and encouraging to better their education. His quick wit and sense of humor often brought smiles and chuckles to those who knew and loved him.
He will be much missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and loved him. Especially his wife Janet.
Next Spring there will be a Celebration of Life. And Military Honor of laying his ashes to rest . At Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. Either in March or April.
