Judith Ann Easterday's Obituary
On July 14, 2025, we mourned the loss of Judith "Judy" Geffre Easterday. Judy lost her battle with cancer at the age of 78 when she passed away in Annapolis, Maryland. She was cremated, and a family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Judy was born in Ipswich, South Dakota, on April 2, 1947. She grew up on a dairy farm in Leola, South Dakota. After graduating from high school in 1965, she joined the Army. Following her years of service, she moved to Annapolis, Maryland, where she commuted to Washington, D.C., and worked at a prestigious law firm for 39 years.
During this time, Judy traveled extensively and saw the world. Florida and Mexico were among her favorite destinations. She often traveled with family and friends. Judy had many extremely close friends, most of whom she had known her whole life or for many decades. She was the kind of person who formed lifelong bonds and truly cherished her many friendships. From phone calls and chats to family reunions and travel adventures, Judy was always up for anything.
Judy was a shining example to us all. When we think of Judy, we think of family, friends, travel, ice cream, estate sales, and Orioles games. She often expressed how grateful she was to have lived a great life, full of wonderful experiences, a loving family, and so many great friends.
Judy is survived by three sisters and three brothers: Jeannie Schock (Larry), Debbie Weise (Eldon), Mary Lee Crabtree (Travis), Jack Geffre (Elaine), Bill Geffre, and Rick Geffre (Sonya). She also leaves behind Richard Callahan, her faithful, loving companion for over 30 years, as well as too many nieces and nephews to mention.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Mary Geffre; three sisters, Lisa Bokelheide (Steve), Rebecca, and Jerilyn; and one brother, Peter.
Judy will be deeply missed by all.
