Joyce Gareau Flynn's Obituary
Joyce Gareau Flynn, of Arnold, formerly of Syracuse, NY and Marathon, NY died peacefully November 9th surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 11, 1934 in Malone, the daughter of the late Helen McDonald.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Francis P. Flynn (Frank) of Arnold, MD. The two met while were working at General Electric (GE) in Syracuse.
Joyce flourished in a career of more than 20 years as a Contract’s Professional at Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated (ARINC) in Annapolis, MD.
She enjoyed travelling the world; sewing, cooking and painting.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maureen F. Morris (husband James) of Dunstable, MA, and Elizabeth A. Flynn of Charlottesville, VA; a son, Francis P. Flynn II (Patrick)(wife Crissie) of Arnold; four grandchildren, Sam Morris and Sean, Catrin and Ryan Flynn, one brother Gary; and two sisters Joanne and Pat.
Joyce was predeceased by her half-sister, Donna Jean Van Order.
A memorial gathering will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care at 814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401 from 9-10:30 am on Saturday November 18 with her memorial service beginning at 10:30 am
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peck Memorial Library, 24 Main Street, Marathon, NY 13803.
