Joseph L. Nasatka, Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph L. Nasatka Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Born on April 2, 1947, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Joe was the son of Norman Francis Nasatka and Helen Cecelia Nasatka. He graduated from Suitland High School and later attended Temple Business School. His education led to a distinguished 30-year career with the State of Maryland, where he worked as a systems analyst.
On May 23, 1970, Joe married the love of his life, Phyllis (Sue). Together they shared 56 years of marriage and built a loving family.
Joe retired in 2003 and devoted his time to many of the interests and causes he cared deeply about. He enjoyed history and was an active volunteer with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and Maryland Last Team. He was also a faithful member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Joe had a special passion for fireworks and was fortunate to share that joy with the community of Chestertown for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Nasatka; his children, Pamela Wirth (Frank), Joseph Nasatka Jr. (Katie), and Mary Ray (Wesley); and his cherished grandchildren, Brixton, Izabel, Henry, and Ryan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21401, on Wednesday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m., with his funeral service beginning at 11:30 am.
