John Edmund Singmaster's Obituary
John Singmaster, "Singy", 78, of Annapolis, MD passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2017. He was born February 3, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA and graduated in 1956 from Chestertown High School. He later served in the Air Force where the communications skills acquired served him well for his career with NSA. Upon retirement from NSA he worked for a total of 28 years at local marinas (Port Annapolis and Shipwright Harbor). His loved for the Chesapeake Bay and his boat the Salty Dog, was never far from his mind. He also enjoyed photography, gardening, and music of all kinds. In his spare time, he volunteered for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild where he appeared as an extra in may movies and the Baltimore TV police series Homicide. He also appeared as Santa Claus on the cover of Time Life Magazine for Children and on billboards found in Harford County. John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jackie Singmaster of Annapolis, MD; step brother, James Haupt of Telford, PA; son, John Scott Singmaster (Diana) of Orlando, FL, and their two children: Matthew and Nicole; two daughters and 4 step children. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many colleagues, he will be sorely missed. Family and friends will be receiving an invitation in the Spring or Summer in Celebration of his Life, he loved those seasons so we will celebrate at a later date. The interment will be private. Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Wounded Warriors.
