John Homick's Obituary
John Homick of Annapolis, MD died at home Tuesday August 1, 2023. He was 78.
Born in Windber Pennsylvania April 3, 1945, the son of the late Parents, Eugene and Anna Homick. John grew up in Windber, PA and graduated from Windber Area High School in 1963. After high school, he would relocate to Washington D.C. and entered the electrical construction industry. He worked as a helper and continued his career working for several contractors, prior to starting Total Electric Service in 1983.
When John was not running his company, he enjoyed travelling throughout the country and abroad. He enjoyed his time on the water, boating and fishing. Additionally, he pursued adventures in the field throughout the west. John and Barbara would pack up their RV and spend weeks exploring the country.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Barbara Komisar; two sons John M. Homick (Rena) of Annapolis, MD & Chad Homick of Annapolis, MD; Sister, Carol Howell (Glenn) of Hilton Head, SC; Sister-in-laws Madelene Greene (Barry) of Bethesda, MD and Marcia Kokus of Ebensburg, PA, five Grandchildren; Heather Homick, Max Homick, Sam Homick, Sonia Homick and Mark Homick all of Edgewater, MD, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday August 6, 2023, from 2PM to 4PM with a prayer service at 3: 30PM.The visitation and funeral service will be at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. The funeral service will be offered by Father Peter Zarynow at 11AM on Monday, August 7, 2023. The burial will immediately follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD. The family requests to please consider donations in lieu of flowers be made to ALS Society www.als.org or Hospice of the Chesapeake www.hospicechesapeake.org.
