John William Green's Obituary
He delighted in family gatherings, weddings, cookouts, birthday parties, and moreover his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved and adored all of them deeply from the depths of his heart. ❤️
As a collector of antique cars and trucks, he enjoyed listening to the news, and watching westerns on the television and loved sharing stories about his upbringing and career.
At the age of 92, he was incredibly impressive; very independent with remarkable health that astounded the medical community. John was physically and mentally strong, smart, witty, a sharp cookie would best describe his character. Everyone who knew him loved and admired his ability and stability to function independently. John will be best remembered for his infectious personality and for being loving, kind and gentle were some of his attributes. He will remain etched in our hearts forever and will be greatly missed.
John leaves to celebrate his legacy; his children, Phyllis Collins, Arcelius Butler (James), Rhonda Dobbs (Michael), Dennis Green (Regena), Orlandes Green, Emmett Green, and Marty Green; Stepdaughter, Velma Williams; sister, Thelma Green; stepdaughter in-laws, Joyce Johnson and Barbara Johnson; (40) grandchildren; (80) great-grandchildren; (56) great-great-grandchildren; other relatives, Tonya Dorsey-Green and Rochelle Simms-Green; extended family and friends of Wiley H. Bates Heritage Park and Senior Apartments, Joyce Anukwu, Ann Brewer, Barbara Evans, Janalee Fisher, Christine Moulden, Betty Pindell, Pearl Wilson, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
