My grandmother was the most amazing woman that I have ever known. I miss everything about her. Her smile, her laugh and especially her conversations. I would call her and we would have the best talks. Grandma I miss you and I love you with all my heart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stringfellow family! Jo was a wonderful caring lady! She was such a joy to talk to. It was a pleasure to have known her.
I did not know John's mom, but she sure did raise a wonderful son in John!!! My thoughts are with the whole family at this time. Love, The Cohen Family

What a wonderful woman with a wonderful family. Great parents and great kids. I was fortunate to have known the Stringfellows while I was coaching football at SPHS in the 70's. I'll never forget how kind and supportive your Mom and Dad were. Remember she didn't pass on, she passed over to a better place. It'll be up to all who knew Mrs. Stringfellow to pass her on through their hearts and minds to others. They will then pass her on, that way she'll will always be with us. How sad to learn of Joellen's passing.
I moved to Springfield, Illinois when I was in 4th grade. My first day at Butler School was a week after school started. The day I came to school, there was not a desk for me or any books so the teacher had me share a desk (the chair was attached to the desk behind it so not a lot of chair room to spare!) and books with Joellen. We both had braids so I always felt a kindred spirit with Joellen.
Joellen was an outstanding athlete. When we chose teams in gym class, Joellen was always chosen first on all the sports teams!!
Such fond memories of our Butler friend, Joellen.
