I just learned of Joan's passing. Joan and I met while living in Crescent Park, in West Milford, NJ. We were the best of friends for five years until I moved away.
Joan was an expert seamstress and taught me how to sew. We spent lots of time shopping for fabric, going out for lunch, having family outings and just hanging out. We even sold wigs together. We were like Lucy and Ethel. Of course, with that red hair, Joan was the Lucy.
Joan was there for me when I was going through a divorce. Our kids played together. Bobby and my Marilyn were in the same class. Susie couldn't pronounce my then last name and so she called me, "Nooksie". I saw Joan occasionally after I moved to NC. When I went "home" to visit family, we would meet up for lunch and catch up on life.
I am saddened to learn of her passing. There will be no more opportunity to catch up until we are once again reunited in that place where there is no pain and sorrow. My heart goes out to Bobby and Susie and all family members.
Rest in peace, Joanie. You will always remain a special person in my memory.

Remembering wonderful holidays when we all gathered at "big Grandma's" house, when Joanie and Don brought Bobby and Susie, Danny and I brought Ronni and Diana (and Boots), Mary and Jerry were there, enjoying their nieces and nephew. My mother-in-law, Anna, and my father-in-law, Andy, adored all of their grandchildren. "Grandma-in-the-kitchen", Anna's mother, made amazing, huge dinners and then rocked all the babies in her rocking chair. It was so much fun for all of us and I cherish these sweet memories.

Joanie was a warm, intelligent and talented woman, and I am so grateful for the love and encouragement my girls and my grandchildren received from their Aunt Joanie, as well as the friendship she extended to me in our later years.

Joanie raised two wonderful children, and my heart goes out to Bobby and Susie now on the loss of your mother. I know she was so proud of both of you, and her grandchildren.

For my "sister," Mary, I'm also sending my love and hugs, and wishing I could be there. I'm so glad all of you are having a family reunion, in spite of the sad occasion.

May she rest in peace; she will always be there in our hearts and memories. God bless all of you!

Joan was my dearest friend for forty years. It lasted so long because we got along so well together - opposites in some ways yet so alike in others. We were definitely kindred spirits.

We shared so much over the years - watching our children grow; sharing the milestones in their lives like birthdays, graduations, weddings and awed by the birth of the next generation - our grandchildren. Those occasions made for some wonderful memories.

We had many happy and madcap adventures with Don, John and Mary - some quite unforgettable! . And yes, we had some sorrowful times as well. We were each other's sounding board and thus we got through the difficult times.

I shall never forget the first time I met Joan. Here was this statuesque woman with bright orange hair (due to some sort of glitch when dying her hair)! But her warm nature and infectious smile won me over right away. That was the start of our 40 year journey.

Joan was a loving, funny, generous and strong woman who was always there for me and Gregory. She will always be his "Aunt Joan."

And to Susie, Bobby, Mary and their families my deepest sympathy and my prayers are with you.

I shall miss you very much my friend, our times together and our many many talks. You will always be in my heart and in my thoughts. God speed.

Where do I start...... so many memories of the Coyle family.

Mrs. Coyle, you were one of a kind. A great wife, mother, friend, and neighbor. Always there for everyone, full of wisdom, advice and yes, insurance answers.

My family (John & Mary Visconti) and I share so many memories with you and your family that it is impossible to write down. To this day, I still tell my children, new neighbors, and who ever else will listen to the many stories that involved you. I still laugh over and over at them. I will always remember the first time you and I met. I was five and gave you a run for your money. It was your favorite story of us and mine too.

Our neighborhood has changed in so many ways over the years, but your old house will always be referred to as "The Coyles House". My memories of our families forever etched in my mind.

My last conversation on the phone with you was full of laughter, sadness and about everything in between we could think of. Remember, I told you that my dad would be greeting you with food. I told you he would be cooking.. So now, it's time for you to enjoy living.

You will be forever missed, and I will continue to share our memories. Thank you for so many of them.

You two are included in my stories too of course. I'm sorry for your loss. Everyday is a healing day. May God Bless You.
