REFLECTIONS ON JIM BROWN
October 1996, we moved into our home next door to Jim and Betty Brown. When informed of Jim’s transition by his daughter a stream of thoughts/memories about him and late wife, Betty began to flow. The overall description or title would be a “consummate neighbor”. A neighbor’s neighbor from the first day we moved in introduced themselves and gave us some cookies
Betty and my wife, Inez began attending The Brock Hall Estate Women’s Club meeting shortly after we moved here. They attended meeting together for years. Jim provided many tips about home maintenance that were unique to our subdivision. Jim and Betty shared the interesting history of the neighborhood and how it evolved. What my wife and I will miss most is twenty-five years of a great neighbor. Neighborhood history, house maintenance tips, notification of trips out of town that entailed making sure mail, newspapers, and paying attention to anything unusual. Jim was an inspiration for us to observe and a lively conversationist. Our condolences and deepest sympathy to the Brown family
