Jesse Columbus Mackall's Obituary
Jesse Columbus Mackall Sr., 71 years old, was the son of the late Malcolm L. Mackall and Mary E. Mackall. He was born on October 26, 1942 in Calvert County, Maryland. He departed this life on August 31, 2014 at Calvert Hospice Center.
He was married to his beloved wife Diane Taylor Mackall for 39 years. From that union they had one daughter Lakisha Morris (Mackall). He loved children and was fondly called Pop-Pop by the neighborhood kids. He spoiled his grandkids, Breiana, Mi’Chaelyn, and Michael Jr.
He attended Calvert County Public Schools. For many years, he worked in Marine Construction with John O. and Edwin Crandell, Inc.
Jesse loved listening to “oldies but goodies” and gospel music. He also loved doing crossword puzzles, working on cars and watching Duck Dynasty. He loved to dance.
He leaves a legacy of love, caring, concern, hope and pride to his wife Diane Mackall. He leaves two children, Jesse C. Mackall Jr. and Lakisha Morris, a son-in-law Michael Morris Sr.; three grandchildren, Breiana, Mi’Chaelyn and Michael Jr.; three brothers Charles Penn, James Mackall and Lemuel Mackall; six sisters Mary Boddy, Doris Jones, Betty Stewart, Clara Mackall (deceased), Martha Mackall and Lena Stepp; as well as Audrey Freeman, his special aunt whom he loved so much.
He also leaves three brother-in-laws, Gerald Thomas (Sandra), Robert Taylor (Deborah) and Melvin Naylor (Peggy); and eight sister-in laws Cynthia McKinney (Ronald), Juanita Workman, Paulette Stewart, Celestine Taylor, Celeste Taylor, Cassandra Gray Ba, Joyce Condra, Patricia Medley, and the late Novella Taylor.
In addition, he leaves devoted nieces & nephews, Pretreace Mackall, Eric Tasker (Caron) and Shawn Butler (Jocelyn); and three devoted God-Daughters, Rayniece Anderson, Rona McGhee and Donna Claggett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends Eugene Wayson, Steve Walters and Joe Walters.
