Jeannette was best friends with my Aunt May. For awhile, while attending Hiram College, she lived with my grandparents. My mom (Sarah Garver Flick) was the youngest of the five kids and was still in high school. She loved Jeannette as she did her older sisters. My mom didn’t like writing letters so I ended up exchanging letters with Jeannette for many years. It was my way of keeping them in touch. I really enjoyed it. My mom would often include a quick note or tell me to share something in one of my letters. A few years ago my kids and I stopped in and had a wonderful visit with her. I loved hearing her share memories of my family. We stayed up quite late in wonderful conversation. She was especially close to my grandfather, Ray Garver. My family adored her. It was easy to see why. She was a dear lady. I cherish my memories of her. I will always remember her with great fondness. My deepest condolences.
