Jean Curnow Smith's Obituary
Jean Smith passed away on January 21, 2024 at age 79 after surviving a life altering illness causing global brain damage and leaving her totally dependent for her care at age 54. Jean loved to travel. She left her home in England and came to America on the Queen Elizabeth when she was 19 years old. She was a hairstylist for many years and immersed herself in her episcopal faith later in life. When not working, she enjoyed going to her place in Ocean City, Maryland and spending time with family and her boxer dog, Brandy. She loved her only daughter and was so proud to be a grandmother.
Her beloved, surviving husband, Jim Smith loved and cared for his wife, Jean at home in Annapolis, MD for 25 years. They were married almost 48 years. She is also survived by her only daughter, Jale Breidenstein; son-in-law, Tom Breidenstein, Hagerstown, MD; two beautiful granddaughters, Amanda and Sydney Breidenstein; and one brother, Gary Curnow in England.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Marjorie Curnow and dad, Tom Curnow and her stepmom, Betty Curnow in England.
Her husband has been steadfast and by Jean’s side until Jesus brought her home and ended her suffering. Private future family celebration of life.
