Terry,
I just met your Mom after I moved to our little cluster of homes back on Old Creek Lake Drive and Cooke Street in 2010. The first time I visited in her home was right after the hurricane which took down so many of her trees. Seems someone mentioned I took fairly decent pictures and could provide them to her on a flash drive! I took the pictures and then we had a wonderful visit and I learned what a dear lady she was. Shortly after that, you arrived on my doorstep with a lovely basket of plants which I thoroughly enjoyed. Over the last six years, we would have chats over the phone to stay in touch with each other. When my son was taken ill with brain cancer, your Mom was always interested in how he was doing -- she told me to keep her posted with how he was and was so comforting in her words. I told her how peaceful her lights at night made me feel whenever I was in my backyard late at night with my poodle (Libby). She said just get some white Christmas lights to put around a branch -- they last forever and you never have to turn them off. The little Thomas Kinkaid music box with "You Will Never Walk Alone" which she had you bring to me meant so much after Gregory's death.
I hope that they have had the opportunity to meet in their new home and that he has "introduced" her to my Mother as they would definitely have been best of friends if they had met here -- from the stories I have read today, they were so very much alike!
My deepest sympathy to you and Cory. You were a wonderful daughter and I know how proud she was of you. Please know that you are always welcome in my home when you are down.
