Jane Berger Biggs' Obituary
Jane Berger Biggs, age 82, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, May 16, after several prolonged battles with cancer.
Jane was born on June 28, 1941 to Clifton Berger and Doris Olivia Berger at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Doris Berger Moore and Elizabeth Berger Anderson.
She is survived by Bill Biggs, her loving husband of 65 years, their son, Rod Biggs, daughter-in-law Julie Biggs, granddaughters Allison Healey (Shane) and Katie Hofstetter (Kyle) and great-granddaughters Cora, Ayla, Ella and Millie.
Jane worked for many years as the administrative assistant to the Director of Civilian Personnel at First Army Headquarters, Fort Meade, MD. However, her favorite position was providing day care to her granddaughters while they were growing up. She also enjoyed spending time in Florida, taking trips to Europe, gardening and attending frequent gatherings with her loving family.
Anyone who had the chance to meet Jane, quickly found that she was incredibly friendly, loving and accepting. Her joy was infectious, and she made everyone around her--even people she just met--feel incredibly loved.
Next-door neighbor Bob Reynolds offered this belief about Jane in his condolences to Bill: "Jane's personality was so strong her soul may linger among us mortals for a bit. Don't be surprised if you feel a gentle breeze, the chirping of birds more pronounced, the laughter of children louder and you appreciate the beauty of flowers more."
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jane's name to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation, 20 Horseneck Lane (2nd floor), Greenwich, CT 06830. No formal services are planned.
