James Henry Pindell Jr.'s Obituary
On February 24th, James H. Pindell, Jr. passed at home. He was born on November 26, 1936 (Thanksgiving Day) to James and Katherine I. Pindell in Annapolis,(Parole) MD.
Jimmy went to Parole Elementary School, was a proud graduate of Bates High School class of 1954. He received his BS degree in Industrial Arts from Maryland State College (UMES) in 1958. He became a member of Cecil Memorial Church at an early age. He served 6 years in the United States Army in communications. He retired from the Prince Georges County School System, where he taught Industrial Arts Education for 30 years. He was a licensed building contractor in the state of Maryland. He built and remodeled houses with Pindell & Pindell Construction Co. He was the building supervisor for the former "Ponderosa Steak House". He built restaurants for them in Cambridge, Bowie, Annapolis, MD and Northern Virginia.
Jimmy was a Boy Scout in Troop 256. He was fortunate to attend a National Jamboree in California. From this he developed a passion and love for camping. He camped in 48 states and Canada, making new friends and spending time with old ones, at Samborees and Rallys. He was a member of Maryland Capital Sams camping club of Annapolis, the Capital Chapter of Family Motor Coach Association, Good Sam Chapter #161 of Florida and a Life Member of Good Sam.
He was active in several organizations including: Bates High School class of 1954, VFW Post 304, La Societe Des Quarante Hommes ET Chevaux Voiture 1230, Inc., A life member of Pass Commander of American Legion Post #141,One of the found members of Mu Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc in Annapolis, MD.
He is predeceased by his parents, James and Katherine, and sister Helen P. Weatherford. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Pindell, daughter Marlene Holland (Terre) granddaughter Kayla Holland, step-grandson Terre Hollad II, godson Brian Edwards and adopted daughter Jennifer Lewis. Two sisters, Cherron Miller of Newark, DE and Carole Smith (Larry) of Denver, CO. Three devoted cousins, Pearl Swann, Muriel McPherson and Joan Adams, as well as a host of devoted cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jimmy love his family, his Ravens, his Orioles, his Country Music and his "Coors".
