James Allen Myers' Obituary
James A. Myers (2/19/1947 – 4/23/2017)
James A. Myers, born in Cumberland, MD, entered into Glory early Sunday morning, April 23, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Anita Fetterhoff Myers, a loving Dad to Kenneth & Bonnie, and a doting grandfather to Benjamin, Ian, Nathan, Abigail and Jonathan.
As a U.S. Army Communications Corpsman, Jim proudly served his country, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals.
Jim was employed with the Anne Arundel County Public School system for 43 years and was respected and loved by all of his co-workers. He also enjoyed square dancing and yard work, keeping an immaculate lawn “with not a blade of grass out of place,” as neighbors and close friends would agree.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clide & Betty Myers of Cumberland, MD. He is survived by his wife, Anita; his son and daughter, Kenneth & Bonnie; his sister, Brenda Craddock of Ruffin, NC; his brother-in-law, Glenn Fetterhoff; and five beautiful grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lasting Tributes Funeral Home, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD, on Wednesday, May 3, at 10 AM, with an 11:00 service to follow by Rev. Michael Horrigan. Final resting will take place at Crownsville Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
