James Henry McNair Jr.'s Obituary
On January 15, 2012, James Henry McNair, Jr. departed this world to be with our Lord. James was born on July 16, 1961 in Fort Campbell, KY. James was the third child of the late James Henry McNair, Sr. and Margarette L. McNair of Clarksville, Tennessee.
James, affectionately called Mac, Jr, McNair and Big Mac, was educated in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. James graduated from Clarksville High School in 1979, later attending Austin Peay State University and Hampton University. While in college James participated in football and track and field. While at Hampton James became a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated and met Veronica Taylor whom he married on June 15, 1991. James and Veronica had one son, Joseph William McNair. James was employed by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Washington, DC) as a mechanic and also spent several years employed by the Maryland State Police.
James was a loving and devoted father, husband, and friend. Active in community awareness, James was also a life member and one of the original founders of Top Notch Bike Club (TNBC)-Washington, DC (13 years), serving as the National Sergeant At Arms.
James was preceded in death by his parents (James H. McNair, Sr & Margarette L. McNair), sister (Edwina Faye McNair), and father in-law (William Taylor). James leaves a loving and devoted wife, Veronica McNair; son Joseph William McNair; sister Jamye (Joseph) Gilliard; four brothers –in law Tyrone Taylor, Schelly (Leslie) Taylor, Mark (Rose) Taylor, Neal Taylor; mother in-law Thelma Taylor; sister in Christ Paulette (Demetrius) Sylvester; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, god children, friends, relatives, and co- workers.
