James Howard McGuinness' Obituary
James H. McGuinness ( Jim ) died on September 8, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jean. He is also survived by his stepchildren Kathleen Ward ( Dennis ), Patrick O'Neill ( Anne Thai ), Maureen Lynch ( Ryan ), step-grandchildren Erin and Liam O'Neill, brothers Patrick and Robert McGuinness in New Jersey, sister Peggy-Anne McGuinness in North Carolina, nephew and Godson Joseph Imbriaco in Florida .
He was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Olive Shafer McGuinness. Jim earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from NJIT in Newark NJ and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and was employed as a Radar Systems Engineer at Westinghouse, later Northrop Grumman, for 41 years until his retirement.
Jim was a HAM Radio enthusiast licensed both in Maryland and The Cayman Islands. His Obituary is also available on the Lasting Tributes, Annapolis MD website. Service is private. Memorial Contributions can be made in Jim's name to the Salvation Army, Jim's favorite charity. The family offer many thanks to the caring and compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice of the Chesapeake.
