The force of nature that was Jim Doyle exited this life on Friday January 31, 2020 after a two-year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his Edgewater home with his beloved wife Donna and “Bella the wonder dog” at his side. Read Obituary
Mr. Doyle was a great sponsor parent during my time as a midshipman at the Naval Academy. We talked about everything; from his class, to car buying strategies, to fitness and nutrition. But the most valuable thing I learned from him was his approach to life. He was always so positive, full of energy, and looking to try new things. When I studied abroad for a semester, he used that to take a trip to China, to see a place he had never seen before. Even as a midshipman, I definitely felt part of the family, and I will always remember those moments that I spent with him.

The first time Jim went to Ireland, he told me he was a “reverse immigrant.” He was a fine example of the Doyle humor. He was so proud of finding great grandfather’s grave and even restored it himself. He later told me that he had discovered that our family was descended from the dark haired Vikings which he said made him a Norse of a different color. Which he certainly was.
On a more serious note, he advised me on dealing with my Mothers situation and I saw him go out of his way to serve his family. Miss you Jim
