James Patrick Coyle's Obituary
On August 5, 2019, James Patrick Coyle Jr, 89, a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel and retired Maryland Department of Transportation assistant secretary, departed this earth. Jim leaves to celebrate his legacy of life with his beloved wife, Mary Louise Coyle. He was the loving father of Stacie Dispenza (Charles), Susan Vogel (George), Jamie Coyle (Jill) and Shannon Klenkel (Phillip). Jim was predeceased by his sister, Mary Muench, and brother, John (Kerry) Kerrigan, and survived by sisters Margaret Sargente and Constance Quanci. He had eleven grandchildren; Andrew Vogel (Katie), Jessica Daniel (Carter), Kelley Falcione (Scott), Anthony Dispenza, Abbie Dobson ( Dane), Kerri, Bryan, Julie, Molly and Jason Klenkel, and Allie Coyle and thirteen great grandchildren.
Jim’s priority in life was his family, closely followed by his faith, love of reading and doing crossword puzzles. He was a proud alum of St. Bonaventure University, Loyola University, and The Military Intelligence School. Jim was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Nam wars. He was inducted into The Military Hall of Fame on April 2, 2016 with the Legion of Merit medal. Jim lived life to the fullest and treasured the memories he created by coaching his son’s high school soccer team in the mid seventies, vacationing at his beloved summer camp on Lake George with his family, and being a lector at his church.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jim’s life at the Lasting Tribute Funeral Home, Viewing at 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD, on Tuesday, August 13, 2019
from 5-7p.m. Wednesday August 14, 2019 a funeral graveside ceremony will be held at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville Md at 11:30 a.m.
