Dear Claudia,

Remembering the time Jim spent at our house, while the two of you were courting. Even more though, I remember the last, long phone conversation we (Jim, you, and I) had, when he was already very weak and struggling. Still, he gave quiet encouragement and expressed his absolute confidence in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Knowing this, we can be assured that, as is expressed in Psalm 30:5, ...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." May His strength be made perfect in our present weakness.

I worked with Jim on LDCM. You couldn't find a nicer guy. He was a true gentleman, and even when he was struggling with his health, he would talk about how lucky he was to have the job that he did and the friends and family that he loved so dearly.
