Jacqueline Gill Stuchbery's Obituary
Jacqueline G. Stuchbery, known to friends and family as Jackie or Grandma Jackie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14th at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham Maryland. She was loved and loving to her last day and will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. Jackie grew up in the Hyattsville-Chillum area and moved to Lanham where she raised her family and opened her home to the foster care system where she helped numerous young girls find a safe haven. She launched her own dance studio, where so many of the neighborhood children learned to dance. She worked for Maryland Park and Planning commission as camp director for the disabled children of Prince Georges County for many years. Also, working tirelessly for the Democratic party, specifically for Gladys Spellman's campaign and as an Election official at the polls. Finishing her career as the activity’s director at an Edgewater nursing facility. Jackie traveled extensively on mission trips to Jamaica, and to Scotland and Ireland with her close friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She will always be in the hearts of her children: William (Butch) E. Stuchbery, Jr., Sandra (Sissy) Romanek (Scott), Kathleen (Kathy) Martinez, Bernadette (Berna) Yamasaki (Charles); her grandchildren: Alyssa Murchake (Christopher), Zachary Romanek, Paige Romanek, Christopher Yamasaki, Alayna Martinez, Colleen Yamasaki; great grandchildren Caroline Brooke Murchake and Lilly Amelia Murchake.
