Jacqueline Lee Kaiser's Obituary
Jacqueline Lee (Selway) Kaiser, 58, died peacefully Friday, September 1, 2023 in Crownsville, Maryland with her family members at her side, after a determined battle with cancer that she carried well into extra innings, after being diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma in August 2020. Born to make her mark on the world on April 14, 1965, in Washington, PA, Jackie was the only child of the late James E. and Anita (Lieb) Selway.
She graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School, PA in 1983, and The Pennsylvania State University-Main Campus in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. As a student at Penn State, she joined the Beta Alpha Psi Honors Accounting Fraternity and was a devoted sister of the Alpha Phi Sorority, developing deep, boisterous friendships that lasted a lifetime. Shortly after graduation, she worked in public accounting in Washington, D.C., and became a highly successful Certified Public Accountant. Most recently, Jackie was the Chief Financial Officer for Government Sales Specialist, LLC, a firm she co-founded in 2010. Throughout her career, Jackie lived in passion for fun and adventure based in the US. Virgin Islands to Paris, France.
Jackie lived in Crownsville, MD with her beloved husband, John Kaiser, whom she wed on August 29, 2020. She leaves two amazing daughters: Alexandra Taladay of Annapolis, MD, and Julia Taladay and her daughter-in-law, Ariel Smith, of Washington, D.C. She is survived by her husband, her uncle Ken C. Thomas, her niece, Emma Voorhes and John’s god daughter, Grace Gallagher.
Jackie was in her happy place on the water sailing and boating. She enjoyed many lifelong friendships, and where Jackie went, the party followed. She was a spark that brought abundant joy and fun to everyone she met, lighting up the room with her smile, appreciation for culture and the finer things in life, and positive, resilient energy. Jackie believed in and often achieved life’s limitless possibilities, inspiring those around her to live life to the fullest. Although her life was too short, she certainly had no shortage of living, and she is sure to “party on” in the hereafter.
