Jacqueline Iona Findley's Obituary
Jacqueline “Jaki” Findley passed away on January 27, 2011 in Silver Spring, MD after a lengthy illness with Multiple Sclerosis. She was interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY, along side her parents.
Prior to moving to Maryland, Jaki resided in New York City. She was the daughter of the late Rev. J. Welfred Findley and Mrs. Christine B. Findley of Nyack, NY. She graduated from Nyack High School, Livingstone College and NYU. Jaki worked at Rockland Psychiatric Center, Orangeburg, NY as a clinical psychologist before retiring. An accomplished pianist and she also was the former organist and youth choir director at St. Paul’s AME Zion Church, Spring Valley, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at the church her father founded, St. Paul’s AME Zion Church, 121 Harriet Tubman Way, Spring Valley, NY 10977 on July 9, 2011 at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a tribute fund in Jaki’s name with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society www.nationalmssociety.org .
