Isaiah Shackleford's Obituary
On the evening of November 8, 2024, God called home
one of his beloved children, Isaiah Jeremiah Shackleford.
Born on February 2, 2002, Isaiah was the youngest of
Terry and Jeannette Shackleford’s eight children. He grew
up in Queen Anne’s County, MD where he attended and
graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in June
of 2020.
After graduating, Isaiah worked in the retail industry where
he was loved and adored by his coworkers and customers
alike. In his free time, he enjoyed watching basketball
highlights and NFL football. He was a huge Pittsburgh
Steelers fan and usually found himself engaged in
competitive, friendly banter amongst his family and friends
who were fans of rival teams. During football season, you
could find Isaiah wearing his light-up Steelers hat, in
Ravens territory, with not a care in the world. Isaiah was a
talented, self-taught drummer. He began playing at an
early age when he received his first drum set at nine
months old. Isaiah was also a car enthusiast. With a quick
glimpse, he could name the make, model, and year of any
car and their special features.
He was a soft-spoken young man with a big heart and a
laugh to match. Anyone who knew Isaiah can recall his
reaction when he received good news. He would come
running from wherever he was, slide across the floor to a
stop, with a big smile and bright eyes in tow. His jaw would
be clinched tight and a squeal coming from his belly as he
burst at the seams. Pacing back and forth waiting to be
acknowledged, he’d hold back his joy just to deliver his
good news to whomever would listen. That joy could fill a
room effortlessly.
Isaiah loved to laugh, watching hours of reruns of his
favorites like “The Office,” “Parks and Rec,” and
“Community,” just to name a few. Isaiah LOVED to
spend time with friends, playing video games online,
eating his heart out, or just strolling around town.
He had dreams of a simple life. His happiness and peace
could not be found in things but in people and food. He
hoped to travel and experience the world for himself.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his maternal and
paternal grandparents, his uncle Rodney Shackleford,
and his cousin Joseph “Joey” Watson Jr. He leaves to
Cherish his memories his parents, Terry and Jeannette
Shackleford; his sisters Tekeyla McGee (Marcus), Hope
Stewart (Russell), Faith Shackleford, Charity Shackleford,
and Patience Shackleford; his brothers, Terry
Shackleford II and Sampson Shackleford, and a host of
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
