Irene Virginia Thompson born on January 29, 1946 to the late Alverta and Eugene Rawlings in Davidsonville, MD departed this life on January 26, 2018, after a lengthy illness Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
Irene- known to everyone as “Gassy” attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She was a domestic worker for over 15 years, then was employed with Special needs children for 6 years or more.
Gassy- was a very out going person and enjoyed visiting family, sitting around joking, and talking about old times. She loved watching game shows and soap operas. Her favorite of all was doing crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doretha Evans and Mary Rawlings, and two brothers, Joseph and Raymond Rawlings.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 1 loving son, William Haskins, Jr. of Annapolis; 4 grand-daughters: Shaniyah and Renicka Haskins, both of Annapolis, Tanika Haskins of Old Mill, MD, and MaKeya Haskins of Severn MD. 2 grandsons, Travis Haskins of Annapolis, MD and William Haskins of Baltimore, MD. 6 great grand-childrens, 1 brother, William Rawlings of Edgewater, MD. 1 sister-in-law Mary Rawlings of Annapolis, MD, 4 nepheew, 3 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
