Howard M. Bishop's Obituary
Howard M. Bishop of Stevensville, MD, previously of Oxford, MS, died with his family by his side in Annapolis, MD on March 19, 2011. He was 80.
He was born on April 7, 1930 in Lumberton, MS, the son of the late Howard Bishop Sr. and Mattie Lee Moody Bishop. A graduate of The University of Mississippi, he earned his wings in the U.S. Marine Corps before starting his 33 year career as an airline pilot with United Airlines.
Howard was an avid tennis player and fisherman. He enjoyed his retirement years on his beloved farm in Oxford, MS until recently moving to Maryland to be with his daughter and her family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, watching movies and sports, and took pleasure in watching the wildlife of the Chesapeake Bay from his back porch on Kent Island.
Howard is survived by his wife, Nancy Bishop, daughter Lori Bishop Hall and husband Doug Hall of Stevensville, MD, brother John Larry Bishop and wife Julie Bishop of Pell City, AL, and three grandsons, Morgan Bishop Hall, Max Hamilton Hall, and Jacob Howard Hall, of Stevensville, MD. He is preceded in death by his son Ted Larry Bishop.
A memorial service will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A. 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 7pm. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to services. A service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11AM at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Oxford, MS.
