Herbert Carlin Moreland, 90, a resident of Davidsonville and previously of Lothian, died August 15 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Herbert was born in Lothian on January 4, 1926 to Herbert and Mary Woodfield Moreland. He attended Southern High School and enlisted in the military at the age of 18. He was a WWII combat veteran, a surveyor with the 292nd Field Artillery Observation Battalion.
