Henrietta Joyce's Obituary
Henrietta M. Joyce, affectionally known by grandkids (as Granny), peacefully departed this life on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on April 20,1940 in Mayo, Maryland to the late John and Josephine Boston. She received her education through Anne Arundel County Public School system. She was loved as a domestic worker, caregiver, teacher, and provider.
She was united in holy matrimony to James E. Joyce, Sr. From this union, they were blessed with five children.
Henrietta enjoyed studying, reading the Bible, and listening to gospel music (Shirley Caesar was one of her favorite artists). Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, shopping, dining out at the Old Country Buffet with her church her friends, traveling, and spending time with family. She was very energetic, outspoken, and loving to everyone she met.
In June 1998, she joined First Christian Community Church of Annapolis where she served on several ministries, which include Ezekiel Outreach and the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Under the leadership of Pastor Richard Johnson 3rd, Henrietta was consecrated a Deaconess on June 18, 2000. She was one of the mothers of the church who always nourished and welcomed all, whether they were an FC3 member or visitor.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters-Jacqueline Ford, Gloria Skipper, and Pamela Joyce; extended family-- Peggie Cooke, Margaret Gonzalez, Beverly Cornish, and James E. Joyce Jr.; and a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
