Helen Carrie Richardson's Obituary
Helen Prann Richardson was born June 14, 1927 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Oscar Prann and Edith Wiseman.
She was educated at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C., and graduated in 1946. She later attended Morgan State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. Later in life she attended Johns Hopkins University.
When she attended Morgan State College, she met her husband, Charles H. Richardson. They met at a bus stop, and Charles gave her a ride to school. They were married and had two children, one daughter, Beverly E. Richardson, and one son, Gary C. Richardson. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Tyree K. Richardson and Quamonta Richardson.
She had a special relationship with her cousins Frances Taft and her daughter Angela Taft. She also had a special bond with Byron Wells, who was like a second son to her.
Helen devoted her life to her work. She was very dedicated to her many roles including a school teacher, managing a day care center, operating a restaurant, owning multiple rental properties, and owning her own marina (OPAR Marina, Eastport, MD).
Helen enjoyed being around her family, spending time talking to her friends on the phone, and watching her religious programs on television. She also enjoyed traveling with her family around the state, going to Ocean City and Assateague Island to watch the ponies and wildlife. Her favorite pastime was reading the bible and meditating by the water. She loved her Catholic faith and was always willing to help her family when they needed her.
On November 6, 2016, the Lord called Helen to her new home in heaven.
