So appreciate getting to know Harold over the course of several years in a small group setting. His smile came readily and naturally, as did his obvious affection for Audrey. To see them hold hands after so many decades of marriage and the little ways Harold expressed genuine care for his wife was truly beautiful. Despite his obvious intelligence and decades of experience, Harold seemed to me to retain a child-like nature in the best of ways - I can recall many times in group conversations when he’d ask a question, simply and earnestly, without the obstructions of arrogance or embarrassment that plague so many of us. I will greatly miss those conversations.
Audrey, I can only imagine how shattering it is to lose your beloved husband of so many years. You’ve understandably been so proud of Harold and so assured of his love. I pray that in this time of great loss and sorrow you know you are grounded with a sure & steady anchor. Elaine & Liz, our hearts go out to you and your children in the loss of your dad / grandfather.
