Harold Edward Lysher's Obituary
Sadly, Harold Edward Lysher “Hal”, 83, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022. He was the loving husband of Barbara, and a devoted father to Clinton Lysher, Sheila Lysher Riggins (Tom), and a loving stepfather to Troy Gallion. He was a devoted grandfather to Racheal Lysher Ackley (Donnie), Shannon Riggins and Paul Riggins. He was a loving step-grandfather to Christy Reeson (Jake) and great-grandfather to Lahna and Lily Reeson. Harold is survived by his sister, Janette Mallari (Ely), and his brother, Mark Lysher (Marcia).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold F. Lysher and Sophie Lysher, of Brooklyn Park, Maryland. He was reared in Brooklyn Park, and spent part of his youth in Flushing Meadows, New York, before the family returned to Baltimore. He was a graduate from Brooklyn Park High School, where he was a pitcher on the school’s baseball team. After graduating from Brooklyn Park High School, he attended the University of Maryland College Park and the Commercial Radio Institute.
Hal’s career with the Social Security Administration, and the National Security Agency, spanned 35 years. During those years, he had many opportunities to travel and explore the world.
Hal was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed bowling and playing tennis. He was a devoted New York Yankee baseball fan. He enjoyed teaching his son, and his grandchildren, the great game of baseball. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. He was their “biggest fan” watching all of their sporting events over the years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
