Gwendolyn Anderson Gaskins' Obituary
In loving memory of Gwendolyn W.A. Gaskins, July 31, 1945 – March 22, 2020
Gwendolyn Gaskins, age 74, of Fort Washington, Maryland passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday March 22, 2020 at 5:13pm. Born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Robert Warren and Ruby Tolbert. Gwendolyn was educated in the Washington, D.C. school system graduating from Spingarn High School, class of 1963. Gwendolyn went to Cortez Peter’s Business College in Washington D.C. and excelled in shorthand and speed typing. She went on to have a long career in Federal service, retiring from the U.S. Census Bureau in 2005. Gwendolyn was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Accokeek, Maryland.
Gwendolyn married William E. Gaskins Jr. in 1980. They went on to shape the lives of five devoted children, Michael Anderson (Maria), Kiesha Gaskins, Shayla Gaskins-Clem (James), Sheri Gaskins, William E. Gaskins III. She has six grandchildren: Briana Anderson, Michael Anderson II, Kya Gaskins, Gwendolyn Gaskins, James Talbert, and Aria Clem. Gwendolyn has four siblings: the late Arthur Warren (Barbara), Charles Tolbert, Clarice Tolbert, Michele Moore (Walter). She leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She will be forever loved.
