Gerald Pinder Crouch's Obituary
Gerald P. Crouch, of Annapolis, known to family and friends as Jerry, passed away on February 20,2024 at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility. He was 95 years old. Jerry was born January 16, 1929 in Baltimore, MD and grew up on Kent Island. He graduated from Stevensville High School in 1947.
After graduation he went to work as the Quartermaster on the Gov. Harry W. Nice, one of the ferries that ran from Matapeake to Sandy Point. After the Bay Bridge opened in 1952, Jerry went to work in the State of Maryland Comptroller's office, Income Tax Division. He retired after more than 39 years.
Jerry was an avid Oriole's fan and loved all sports. He enjoyed bowling, and bowled in the Colonial Retirees Bowling League at Severna Park Lanes for a long time. He also enjoyed walking, reading, and being with family and friends. He was a member of Eastport United Methodist Church, Annapolis Elks #622, and Annapolis Moose Lodge.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Kelley Crouch; daughter, H. Lynn Goddard (Guy) of Annapolis, MD; granddaughter, Stacey Eibling (Stephen) of Annapolis, MD; sister, Doris Gibson (Mack) of Easton, MD; son-in-law, Marc Burford of Towson, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry C. Burford; two brothers, Albert and Nelson; and sister, Shirley Rittenhouse.
A gathering for Jerry will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care located at 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21041. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastport United Methodist Church; 926 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403.
