Geradline Brooks Offer's Obituary
Geraldine Brooks Offer was born to the late John and Gazelle Brooks in Shade Side, MD, on May 2nd, 1932. Being one of eighteen, she is the last to be reunited with her birth family.
Geraldine received her early childhood education within the Anne Arundel Public School system.
On May 3rd, 1968 she was married to Robert F. Offer, Sr. Within their fifty year union, they raised together seven sons and one daughter. Their family extended to fourteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grand children and forty-two great great grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her morning, afternoon and night.
Geraldine was a nurturer. She had a heart to care for those who could no longer care for themselves. Which explains why she chose to be a nurses aid.
In 1968 she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Geraldine was the eldest member of Victory Christian Fellowship in Crownsville, MD, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Barnabas Offer, her nephew. Her favorite gospel group that she listened to constantly was the Gaither's. "Last Mile of the Way" by Sam Cooke was her most cherished gospel song.
She was known for her infamous crab cakes and sweet potato pies.
Through her final days Geraldine loved to play Ms. Pac' Man and the piano. While she would play the piano, she would sing her gospel hymns..
Reading, especially he evening Capitol Newspaper, was her favorite past-time.
Geraldine absolutely adored her maltise, named Texas, whom she received from Texas.. Texas was Geraldine and Robert's empty nest K9 child.
Every evening you could find Geraldine watching Family Feud, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. These were her favorite television shows.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Offer Sr., sons Dexter Turner, Sr., Adrian Blake, Jerry Turner and Matthew Offer, grandson Ronnel Offer and great-grandchildren, Tyler Offer, Taylen Simms and Rykell Harris.
Continuing the legacy of Geraldine Brooks Offer is Ronnie and Sheryl Offer of Harrisburg, PA, Robert Jr. and Darlene Offer of Tomball, TX, Lucinda and James Spearman of Annapolis, MD, and David Offer of Churchton, MD. Geraldine's legacy stems five generations, from herself to her children, to their children, to her great-grandchildren, and her great great grandchildren, all whom will continue to cherish her love, laughter, and joy. She also leaves her two foster sisters Jessie Brown of Oxon Hill, MD, and Ealise Crumb of Oxon Hill, MD., a sister-in-law, Pamela Offer of Churchton, MD, a brother-in-law, Richard (Linda) Offer of Harwood, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews,, cousins and friends.
