Genevieve Brown Gross' Obituary
Genevieve Brown-Gross of Churchton, MD peacefully passed away on May 27, 2014 at the South River Health & Rehabilitation Center. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Wendell Gross, two daughters: Isabella Chapman and Emily Thomas, one granddaughter LaVern Crowner.
Genevieve was born on February 7, 1920 in Baltimore, MD to the late Issac Brown and Isabella Jacobs. Genevieve attended public school in Washington, D.C. Later in life she married Wendell Gross. They resided in Churchton, MD where they raised their two daughters Isabella and Emily, and grandson Issac Colbert Sr. Genevieve was raised Catholic but later converted to the United Methodist Church. Genevieve later joined Frank United Methodist Church.
Genevieve was a domestic worker, but she also enjoyed working in restaurants. She enjoyed cooking, soap operas, and talking with her daughter Emily on the phone. Genevieve especially enjoyed Chinese food. She leaves to mourn five grandchildren, Issac Colbert Sr., Willard Thomas, Delphine Thomas, Michael Thomas, and John Thomas Jr., 15 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
