Garl Lacy Cutlip, Jr.'s Obituary
Garl Lacy Cutlip, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD, on August 13, 2024.
Garl was born in Montgomery County, MD on February 1, 1948, to Garl Lacy Cutlip, Sr. and Clara Elizabeth (Jones) Cutlip.
He was a lifelong Maryland resident and had a long career with Safeway as a butcher until April 2023. In addition to working at Safeway, he owned and operated a lawn care business in recent years as well. He was no stranger to the motto “work hard and play hard”.
Garl enjoyed the outdoors – boating, fishing and water skiing in his younger days. Off-roading in a four-wheel drive vehicle was also something he enjoyed. Dining out for prime rib was a great pastime where he would enjoy a libation or two and meet and greet many restaurant owners, staff and patrons. His smile and jovial nature will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Janice Cunningham (Dennis) and Richard McClure (Sheri); his sisters Jean Kemmerer (Tom) and Dianne Weber; and 2 loving granddaughters: Hannah and Emily Cunningham.
Visitation will be at Lasting Tributes Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Friday, September 27, 2024, 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in his memory to American Kidney Fund www.kidneyfund.org .
