Gail Ann Proctor's Obituary
Gail Ann Proctor passed away on May 26th, 2017 at the of age 67. She was surrounded by her closest family in Arnold, MD. Gail was fondly known as “Mere Mere” to her three adoring grandchildren.
Gail was born August 7th, 1949 in Burlington VT, daughter of Reginald and Marie (Violette) Poquette. She was preceded in death by both parents, as well her previous husband William Proctor. Gail is survived by her husband Joseph H. Perkoski, daughter Brooke Emmaline Rathell, son-in-law J. Douglas Rathell, Jr., grandchildren Huxlee Frances Rathell, Sanger Violette Rathell, and Truitt Reynolds Rathell, as well as her five siblings and loving friends.
Gail dedicated 45 years as a Register Nurse caring for countless patients in many fields of Nursing. Her smile was infectious and her love of family and friends was nothing less than surmountable. If you asked her what her greatest achievement in life was she would simply say “Huxlee, Sanger and Truitt.” Her love for these three was unbreakable and true. She would light up anytime she spoke of them, which was probably EVERYDAY!
An excerpt from Gail’s favorite poem, by E.E Cummings.
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go, my dear)...
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart.
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
Family of Gail would like extend a warm thank you for all the support and well wishes. Thank you to Hospice of the Chesapeake, especially Mel and Kate for taking the very best care of Gail in her most vulnerable times.
