Frederick Karl Doering's Obituary
Frederick K. Doering, of 1825 Hillwood Court, Severn, Md., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at his home after years of battling multiple health issues.
Born in Baltimore on Oct. 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Fred and Gertrude Doering. Fred was a 1958 graduate of Mergenthaler High School, Baltimore. He served in the U.S. Army and later was employed as a printer. He also worked at PACE Warehouse and for Weis Markets.
On May 13, 1967, he married the former Jerrilynn Lindermuth.
Fred loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially of his favorite teams, the Orioles and the Ravens. In healthier times, he enjoyed visiting the ocean and swimming, playing tennis, ice skating, and bowling. He also liked to play Pinochle and to visit Knoebels Grove Amusement Park in Pennsylvania to ride the roller coasters. He was fond of animals, had two pet cats, and liked visiting his daughter Linda's horse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Michael Lindermuth.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Nancy and son-in-law, Todd Pope, St. Leonard, Md.; a daughter, Linda Doering, Laurel, Md.; grandchildren, Garrett Pope and wife, Colleen, and Jeremy Pope, and great-grandsons, Brantley and Grayson Pope, all of St. Leonard; a brother, Herbert Doering, Arvada, Colo.; cousins Helene Woessner, Baltimore, and Joe and Christine Altmann, Bel Air, Md.; brother-in-law, John Lindermuth, Coal Township, Pa.; niece, Nina and husband Marc Weir, and great-nephews, Connor and Duncan Weir, all of Northumberland, Pa.; extended family in Germany, and many friends.
In preference to flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Fred to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Lewy Body Dementia Association, or the Skin Cancer Foundation
