Frank Anthony Runge Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Anthony Runge Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of the life he built and the family he loved.
Born on March 25, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, Frank was the son of Josephine Rita Runge and Frank Anthony Runge Sr. He spent much of his life in Maryland before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. From 1963 to 1967, Frank proudly served as a Military Policeman, including overseas service during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Frank pursued a variety of careers that reflected his strong work ethic and versatility. A true jack-of-all-trades, he worked as a Baltimore City Police Officer, bus driver, computer technician, truck driver, and landscaper. No matter the role, Frank approached his work with dedication and pride.
In 1992, Frank met the love of his life, Susan Runge. The two were married on May 17, 1997, and shared nearly three decades of love, companionship, and cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed life on their farm in Arnold, Maryland, where they planted and harvested fruits and vegetables for the family farm stand, a tradition that began in Susan's childhood. Frank found great joy in caring for his outdoor fishpond and indoor aquariums and treasured the peace and beauty of the outdoors.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Runge; his sons, Frank "Skip" A. Runge III and Jason "Jay" S. Runge (Christina); his stepchildren, Anthony Rezendes, Lisa Lima, Karen Wiseman (Larry), and John Rezendes Sr. (Dawn); his sister, Kathy Runge; his sister, Jeanette Posey (Ralph); nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his kindness, wisdom, and steady presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine Rita Runge and Frank Anthony Runge Sr., and his brother, John Runge.
Frank will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to his family, his love of the land, and his ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he cherished.
