Frank Vincent Sewell Butler Sr.'s Obituary
Frank Vincent Sewell Butler, Sr., better known as Tip, was born on August 13, 1944, in Edgewater, MD to James Edward Butler, Sr. and Francis Ann Butler. Tip went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2023.
Tip attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools then served 4 years in the Army during the Vietnam War. He spent many years working for the City of Annapolis as a sanitation worker. He also worked as a truck driver for Katcef Brothers and spent several years doing janitorial services as well.
Tip attended Lighthouse Apostolic Church in his earlier years and Annapolis Church of God in his later years. His two favorite songs were “Let the Church Say Amen” and “Love Lifted Me”.
During his spare time, he enjoyed visiting his sister, Ruth, in Philadelphia, as well as visiting other family and friends. Tip enjoyed going to car shows and racetracks. He loved football and watching westerns. His favorite foods were seafood and soul food.
Frank is preceded in death by his late wife, Sandra L. Butler (Johnson); son, Vincent Butler; 3 brothers, Charles, Samuel, and James Butler, and 3 sisters, Margaret Brown, Janette Sellman, and Shirley Green.
He leaves to cherish his memory, 5 sons, Ellis Butler, Frank Butler, Jr. (Joyce), James Butler, III, Donta Butler, and Demond Butler; 2 daughters, Regina Proctor and Tasha Wilkerson; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Louis Butler (Mary Ann); sister, Ruth Curtis; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley Butler, Ruth Butler, and Janet Butler; a host of nieces, nephews and friends, including his 2 favorite nephews, Walter Curtis and Wayne Brown, Sr.
