Francis "Frank" Pickett's Obituary
Francis “Frank” Edward Pickett, 83, passed away at Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crownsville, MD, on November 4, 2024.
Francis was born in Washington DC on May 19, 1941, to parents Bernard Pickett and Kathryn O’Dea. Francis was a sheet metal worker, and owned his own business Liberty Metal until 1997. He then worked with other sheet metal companies until he retired in 2017.
Francis married the love of his life, Sherry on July 10, 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and football. He was a die hard Redskins fan. Francis had a sense of humor like no other. He loved telling jokes and stories. Sometimes he couldn’t even get through the joke without laughing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
Francis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Sherry Jewel Pickett. He is survived by his daughters, Liberty Francis Pickett, and Kellyn Paige Sillaman; seven grandchildren: Lauren Kandace Paddy, Taryn Lacey Alexander, Lexus Marie Pickett, Ashleigh Kaytlyn Stroschein, Logan Wayne Sillaman, Kyleigh Christine Pope, Londyn Victoria Kurimay; and three great grandchildren: Hannah Mae Paddy, Lydia Grace Paddy and Caiden Michael Alexander.
Public visitation will be held at Lasting Tributes on Monday November 11, 2024 from 10:00 am until the beginning of Frank's funeral service at 12:00 pm. All are welcome to join at Maryland National Memorial immediately following the funeral for a graveside committal ceremony.
